I often find it hard to find a show that both my kids enjoy and I do, too. Here is my top-ten lists of family-friendly shows available on Netflix right now. I didn’t put recent major motion pictures on there that you’ve probably already seen or know about, such as SING, Moana, Trolls, etc. I tried to put some on the list that you may not have had a chance to check out yet.
Top Ten Family-Friendly Shows on Netflix:
- When Calls the Heart
I love this show! My kids also enjoy watching it. The first three seasons are now on Netflix. The story takes place in an Old West coal mining town. A young teacher from a wealthy family leaves the city to go out west and teach the children of Coal Valley.
- Anne with an E
I don’t like this version as much as the original movies, but I still enjoyed watching and am excited for the next season to be released.
- Free Rein
My kids loved this series and I did, too. A teenage girl spends the summer in her mom’s hometown on an island off the coast of England and she meets a mysterious horse.
- The Great British Baking Show
This is a great show! It is mellower than the American tv cooking competitions, which I find refreshing.
- Fuller House
I grew up watching Full House, so I really like watching this series with my kids. They sometimes push the envelope a bit but usually family-friendly and a hit in our house. I believe season three episodes will be released the end of September.
My daughter and I watched this together and we both really enjoyed it. I had forgotten the plot of this book and I really enjoyed the storyline.
- Parent Trap
The original parent trap with Hayley Mills is a classic! I still love watching this show and so do my kids!
Delinquent boys are sent to dig holes as character building, but is there another reason they are digging the holes?
- Homeward Bound
I loved this show as a kid. My kids and I enjoyed watching this together. Fun adventure of two dogs and a cat as they try to find their family.
- Baby’s Day Out
A baby is kidnapped and escapes from his kidnapper and has all kinds of adventures.
I’d love to hear your favorites! We are always looking for new family-friendly shows.
